Summer in the City - R

July was lots of fun we were able to spend most of it outside enjoying Halifax city!

We watched the Canada Day parade and then went up to the Citadel to take in the festivities.

Jonathan was dressed for the occasion - thanks to Grandma Martens
for sending along this festive onesie!

Jonathan slept right up until the part of the parade where the drummers
went by and then enjoyed watching all the action!
Up at the Citadel there were lots of speeches . . .
Jonathan slept through all that until the cannons and gun salute!

Jonathan even tried to sleep through lunch,
but still managed to down all his milk!

Later on in the month, after a playdate with some friends in the Commons (at which Mommy forgot she had her camera) We strolled through the Public Gardens and admired all the flowers.

Jonathan enjoys being outside and seeing all the sites!

Jonathan is all smiles for the camera :)

At the end of the month, we went down to the waterfront to take in some of the Tall Ships Festival and enjoy the celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the War of 1812. It was a lot of fun, and we even got to hear the 1812 Overture live with real cannons!

We stopped for lunch in the shade

Daddy and Jonathan enjoyed strollin' along looking at all the big boats

Later that week Jonathan and I watched the ships sail out from Point Pleasant Park.

Here's Jonathan hanging out in the only shade around - that made by his stroller!
At the end of July we helped a little friend celebrate her 2nd birthday.

Although Jonathan didn't get to enjoy any cake, he had fun hanging out with another adorable little guy just about his size!

The birthday party had a Dalmation theme - as you can see, Jonathan is less than impressed by having to wear a headband, but makes a cute puppy nonetheless!

All that fun took us right to the end of July along with planning for our first family vacation . . . stay tuned!

Cheers,
Racheal
